BRIEF
This was a first year project. A proposal for a contemporary art gallery in Barcelona. The design must accommodate for a permanent gallery space, a temporary gallery space and a restaurant or cafe. Full consideration should have been given to allow full access for disabled visitors and staff. Suitable facilities should also have been provided for the staff, as well as Ancillary areas ie; storage, boiler rooms, etc. The client also requires a day studio for their own endeavors. The site must also be landscaped using a sculpture garden consisting of everyday objects.
CONCEPT
The concept for this project was mainly to deliver each function with the best organised scheme possible. Given the multitude of functions needed within the building, There was an importance based upon creating straightforward journeys within the building, allowing for easy access on all parts. This also combined with the approach the building, with the sculpture garden.
