PART II STUDIES
PART II - UNIVERSITY OF WESTMINSTER
FIFTH YEAR
In the final year of my studies, I was a student in DS25, a studio based on taking the fundamental relationship between bodies and architecture as the starting point for unabashed speculation through filmic representations and haptic forms of making. The first semester allowed us to explore the creation of the 'Body Agent' through drawing, writing and making. The second semester allowed us to use our 'Body Agents' and sites in Turin, Italy to produce a brief with the formulation of a research question to be resolved through the creation of a programme, displayed through drawing, modelling and film making. My dissertation focuses on the contemporisation of the painted Panorama and how present day media relies on its fundamental principles.
FOURTH YEAR
During the fourth year of my studies, I was a student in DS23, a studio based on exploring what mechanisation might mean in the twenty-first century with an aim to rediscover the aesthetic of the machine. To do this, the first semester allows students to explore the nature and typologies of the factory, but also of the materials and the machines of automation in the building industry. In the second semester, building upon our research, students create innovative programmes exploring the productive landscape of the future factory and to explore the architectural opportunities to be found in the formulation of a new disseminated industrial aesthetic.
